Two Paths

Our children are suffering as a result of our poor parenting or lack thereof. It appears that parents are trying to be friends with their children rather than their parent. Most kids want boundaries and at an early age they start to test them. If there are no boundaries the kids go out of bound quite often.

As a result of our lack of parenting we force our children down paths that we never dreamed of. One path is the road to prison and the other is the road to an early death. It is the sole responsibility of a parent to nurture and steer their child into adulthood. One thing that parents need to stop doing is trying to raise their children and start rearing their children to be adults.

We are adults longer than we are kids and the more equipped our children are to make the transition the easier it will be for them. It is evident that this is not occurring and one of the reasons so many adult children are still living at home or struggling on their own.

It’s not a surprise that they are in this situation, it was inevitable as a result of them  not having the needed life skills that would have prepared  them to be self sufficient. Even when parents are great and do what they should there are still some who end up on one of the paths as well. So why not give our children a head  start to have a path that is rewarding and fulfilling.
